Golf Tips – How to Improve Your Putting in Just One Minute Without Buying a New Putter
Tired of choking on three foot putts? Sick of losing to golfers you can beat, because you can’t putt? Do you have a garage full of putters which have never improved your putting?
Are you great on the practice green, but terrible when the pressure is on?
Golf can be quite frustrating. The yips, problems with the short game and putting woes can drive professional golfers and amateur golfers crazy.
Golfers spend a lot of time and money on lessons, new equipment, training aids and videos. Now there is not necessarily anything wrong with doing this. However, putting is quite mental. Yet many golfers fail to address the mental, psychological and emotional aspects related to sinking long putts and short putts.
In order to putt well, you need to know how to be relaxed, confident and focused. You also need to know how to get your mind and your body to zero in on the task at hand and forget about the last shot or the next hole you are about to play. You have to know how to get into the present. And, to be a great and efficient putter, you need to learn how to get your mind into your putting gear quickly and efficiently.
In order to relax on the green, you need to slow down your mind, your body and your breathing. You need to rid yourself of tension and anxiety.
You can do this by learning meditation, self-hypnosis or relaxation procedures.
You also need to know how to tune out distractions and focus in on your line or your target. Most golfers need to know how to awaken a part of their mind and their eyes which gets them into precision mode.
A patient of mine who came to see me about his putting was a diamond cutter by profession. I trained him to use this kind of precision when he got onto the green.
You also need to know how to help yourself to feel more confident. I teach golfers how to get their mind into a confident place before they stand over the ball and before they tee off. You need to know what makes you confident and gets you to believe in yourself and your abilities. Many golfers have never thought about this issue and, consequently, they don’t know how to think and behave like a champion.
Once you master the mental aspects of putting which include knowing how to stay relaxed, calm, focused and confident before you strike the ball and when you hit your putts, your scoring will improve and you will feel more like a champion when you play.
