This 18-hole, 6,435 yard, par 72 municipal course is located at 7202 North 4000 E Road, eight miles from Kankakee center, near Manteno hospital. Open all year long, the golf course was founded in 1928, and it has a rating of 70 and a slope rating of 118. The purpose of the Manteno Golf Club and its associated Learning Center is to give members of the Manteno community a terrific golf experience. The course has four sets of tees which challenge experienced golfers and yet permit even beginners and children to enjoy a playable golf course. The rolling, bluegrass fairways feature six water hazards which provide challenging thrills on many of the holes. The bent grass greens are large, undulating, with elevated tees. Propinquity to Manteno Illinois hospital makes this course conveniently located for golfers with heart and other serious health problems.
