take some lessons, lol jk
Ummm, just don’t try to hit it as hard as you possibly can, it never works
WORK YOUR DRIVE ON THE DRIVING RANGE. MINIMIZE HEAD MOVEMENT THROUGH OUT YOUR SWING. YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK
Rust is a tough critter to get rid of no matter how long you have been out of the game……Your swing when you were playing did not occur in a day…….neither will getting it back. Keep working on it……maybe see a teaching pro if necessary…but above all else ….enjoy the game
ive found that even though practice doesn’t make perfect it will help you out tremendously, i go to the driving range about 4-5 times a week just so i can keep everything in check and make sure every things till fine but its always good to hit as much as possible just because time tends to heal everything
Obviously, this is a general question of all golfers. A good shot is the result of doing the full set of the right motions in the golf swing. There is no cheating or luck. You should review your graping, posture, stance, back swing, down swing, weight shifting and follow through. What problem(s) do you have? Draw, slide, or else? Find out the cause of the problem(s)! Same problem may have many causes. Then, you will find the solution. Talking to a professional coach would help. Golf is not an easy game!
lol im not gonna really answer cuz i have the same problem to rusty joined the golf team. terrible drives.
Ugh, I hate when I have to lay off and then get back. I have been plagued by injuries that resulted in having to stop playing and am just getting back. The video in the sources below helped me tremendously. It costs a few bucks (but is cheaper than hiring a pro) and gave me some great insight into my swing and excellent drills. I think the most important thing to remember is that it will take time. Be patient with yourself and work on one aspect at a time.
Good driving comes from a flatter delivery path. Usually this flatter delivery path comes from rotating your lower body and separating it from your upper body at transition. But when all else fails the goal is the come from the “inside” so let’s give you a good drill to try.
Ben Hogan had a famous image of a plane of glass, but unless you have something like that to use, try this one. Take your normal set up with your club one inch (no more than that) away from a wall. Take a practice swing and on the downswing try to rotate your lower body without hitting the wall. with the club. If you do it correctly, the only time the club should be close to the wall is when you would make contact with the ball.
Good luck,
Tyler
Simple is best, try to hit it 75-80%. Also keep your back swing short to minimize the chance of a mistake & so you can accelerate through the ball
– take a video camera to the driving range with you
– sprinkle flour on top of each ball. this will show you if you are centering the ball onto the head
– work with your body, not in spite of it
