How do i get really good at golf for free?

I love playing golf. I love watching it on tv. Problem is i’m pretty much horrible at it. I can hit the ball, but not straight or accurate at all. Sometimes i shank it. I love playing so much and could play every day, but i don’t have a lot of money at all for nice clubs or a coach. Is there anything i can do for like free lessons or something?

There are some municipal courses in my area that offer free clinics on Saturday morning. Check with the city courses in your area and see if they do the same.

Last year, they offered ladies clinics in the fall for $15 a class. I took one class on woods and it turned my game around.

Play with good golfers. They will give you tips and you can watch them to see what they do. This will still cost you money though. Try going to a park and hitting golf balls, illegal, but free.

Work at a golf course that lets you play for free and talk about the game until either your face turns blue or the cows come home. That’s how I exponentially improved over the years.

I went from someone like yo to scratch in less than a year and a half ONE WAY: I hired a PGA Class A Pro as my instructor/trainer.

well if you have the will and desire, do what all the old timers did get out in the field with a bag of balls and get swinging don’t stop from sun up sun down. Luckily we have the internet when you need some pointers poke around, pro’s swings are broken down all over the internet check what positions they are hitting and practice them and drills are all over the place. Every now and then get your swing on camera and check your progress see what you need to work on and you will get there in no time.

You can’t totally do it for free, but there are some things you can do inexpensively. Lesson wise, get a subscription to one of the golf publications(Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, Golf Tips, etc) or go to the library and check out books on golf, or go to a book store and purchase a book written by one of the legends of golf(Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, etc). As far as clubs, go to Walmart or Target and get a complete set of clubs. You don’t have to get a name brand set since you’re still in the beginner’s stage. Practice at your local range using the tips you get from reading the magazines or books. Play at par 3 courses to begin with just to get the feel of swinging the club and hitting good shots. Graduate to regulation courses and have fun. Practice, Practice, Practice.

I understand your pain. Many of us start out the same way. I have developed a golf learning system for beginners called Golf For Newbies for people such as yourself. Right now I’m looking for people from various backgrounds to put it to the test.

Send me an email message with the code word YAHOOANSWER in the subject line and I will give you a complimentary copy of my program if you promise to give me an honest testimonial.
