What area of South Carolina is the best place to visit for golf?
My friends and I are looking to take a guys weekend for some golf, beach and relaxation. We are all 23 years old and want to find a place in South Carolina that is affordable and is a nice spot to enjoy some golf as well as hanging out by the ocean in early June. At this point we are looking to get the most for our money (all of us just started to work and do not want to spend too much). A city right on the ocean is mandatory, and finding a hotel/villa right on the beach is preferred.
Myrtle obviously is your best bet, but starting after Memorial Day, it gets super crowded with family vacations, and that is right about when the grammar schools get out so the beach will be swarming with little kids- but, if you insist on staying on the beach in June, there are penty of hotels/condos available that offer golf packages but expect the rates to be high. Check out myrtlebeachgolfholiday and you can book your hotel and tee times. Because of the crowds, expect to be in the car for a long time going to/from the hotel and courses- plan on being late for your tee time. I have gotten stuck on the strand and taken 3 hours to go 3 miles.
Myrtle is the best place for a guy’s trip, and it’s pretty affordable as well.
Hilton Head is more expensive, has less nightlife and stuff that 20-something guys want to do, and really isn’t a value destination. I prefer Hilton Head to Myrtle when going on family trips, but if I was going with buddies I’d do Myrtle.
Anywhere is good in South Carolina, you can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a golf course. Good luck.
Myrtle or Hilton Head…both have great courses. Hilton Head’s night life is under rated and its close to Savannah, GA which is a really cool town.
myrtle beach over 100 golf courses ranging in price. great night clubs lots of broads and titty bars and you should be able to find a golf/ stay package suiting your price and needs. Try searching myrtle beach golf vacations. should be alright for a group of young studs.
