What would you use to replace a broken putter during a round of golf?
I’ve been playing Tiger Woods 09. When a character makes a bad shot, they will sometimes throw a tantrum and break their club. This happens most often with a putter.
According to the USGA Rules of Golf, an intentionally damaged club cannot be replaced during a round.
My question: If you just broke your putter during a tournament, what club out of those remaining in your bag would you use to putt?
lob wedge played with the club laid wide open and ball forward in the stance. Strike ball just on the equator with the edge of the club. Gets good rotation like a putt and with a little practice, you can make putts. I actually practice with the club from time to time as it helps me to focus on staying down through the putt. If you move on the lob-putt, you can hit some pretty ugly stuff.
Have actually used this club in tourney play several times.
wedge is best.
bellied sand wedge the extra bounce does make it easier to putt. reason for this more sole weight. Great club to practise putting with. beats majority training aids .
I personally would use a pitching wedge and belly the ball (meaning hit it right in the middle of the ball). However, this is not an easy shot to hit consistently so if you never practice it, you’d be better off with a hybrid or a fairway wood.
If you do go the wedge route, use your wedge with the straightest leading edge. Many gap and sand wedges have a rounded leading edge. You play the ball as if you’re putting it.
This is also a good shot to learn for when you’re ball is sitting on the fringe and is right up against the edge of the rough.
Take a lob wedge if you have and hit right in middle.
You could also take the driver but it is not as good as the wedge
I would use a 7 iron because the blade edge is comparatively square, grip down to below the grip and putt .
